well, if you're asking about work, i had moved to a different asset.. now i'm supporting one of the most important gas platform.. powering the nation, babe!.. no gas supply, no electricity to PM (peninsular malaysia).. sounds cool but maaaaaan, it's a lot lot lot of work and stress.. i thinks it's a very good exposure to build my working competency level, but i'm not sure whether i'm up to it.. funny, here i am, always keep repeating that my personality is not suitable to work here, but still i have no intention to jump ships.. ok2, intention je la yang ade, action xde pong, cv xpenah pun update..hehe..
summary - work: keje sampai bila tak abes2, i NEED the money but i also want job satisfaction!

activity wise, this evening i'm heading to UTP with anis to pick-up yani then proceed to penang..It's una's wedding tomorrow!.. so happy for her, may she has a happy and prosperous new life and berbahagia hingga ke syurga :) ..

had been ages since i properly updated this blog..
had quite a few blog materials however those remain in my draft-box and remain being unposts..

hurrmmm...

work is d*mn stressful.. my personality definitely is not one that fit for my work environment.. there u need to be loud, firm, persuasive, which i am not at all..feel like giving-up sumtimes but when i think about $$, man, i need that!.. i am being too pampered with the luxuryness ever since working here, and we ARE being underpaid if to compare with the industry standard..

the best and a definite good thing working there are the opportunities for you to learn about almost anything and everything.. a lot of interesting things~.. and the people there are nice and very professional.. but the workload!..ommona!.. with (not-so) big money come a whole huge lot of workload/responsibilities, and there are no stopping of new trains from coming!

i guess that's why i resort myself to be in this kpop/drama fanatism.. am noticing myself that i tend to be easily happy and laugh and giddy about anything positive and shining (like the bright morning sky).. am i start to lose my mind? >.<

of an untold story unfold

it was only the day before my 24th birthday that i was told quite an interesting story that happens back 24 years ago:

near midnight of Dec 19, 1986 my uncle was simply kalut.. it was raining heavily and had started flooding as per the scheduled monsoon season.. at my grandmother house, my mom was already in labor pain despite my birth date outlook to be tentatively Jan 31, 1987.. the village clinic's nurse was away on vacation.. the nearest bidan simply declined to come as she was not booked.. the only choice left is another bidan who lived quite far and need to cross a bridge.. once my uncle reached the bridge, the bridge was flooded with overflowing water thus unable to distinguished between the river and the bridge.. this one river was known to have its inhabitants, thus when my uncle actually stepped into one of their heads, he immediately snatch a tree branch and ketuk ketuk ketuk ketuk their head and hurriedly, running across the river to the bidan house.. i was born just right when the clock strike twelve with my uncle the bidan safely made it despite the dangerous encounter..

initially planned to write about my recent trip to KK and Singapore.. but, oh well.. too lazy.. maybe next time?

of so called classic coffee shop

I realized kopitiams nowadays require the customers to do self servicing either by browsing the menu given at table and ticking the prepared order form; or order the food, pay, and collect the food at the counter.. no more the conventional way where the waiter/-tress would ask the customer and recommend today's special (altho half-boiled eggs and toast are the favorites).. and sumtimes, they still charge you for service tax!

this morning, i had my breakfast at one kopitiam in bangi, the one that is near to masjid hasanah and hospital az-zahra & an-nur, the one owned by one of members of the country legendary rock group (am I being too descriptive here?)..

Not to complaint, but I have to admit the service is quite lousy.. when we first arrived, there was a few other customers arriving at the same time with us.. instead of taking orders, noticed that 2 waiters in front of us were cleaning the same table (DUH!) while some waiters(-tresses) are just idling at the counter, chit chatting.. maybe they do assigned everyone to special job description i.e. cleaning-up table, taking order, delivering ordered items but when you can see customers streaming in and waiting for someone to respond to them, it is clearly the job assignments was not done effectively..

after quite sometime, one of the waiter came and placed the menu and order form, on the table without saying anything (courtesy 101 anyone? ).. it was only after approx 30 minutes, someone from the kitchen come out and approach us:

Kitchen guy: "sorry cik tapi nasi lemak ngan ayam and sotong da habis"
(we ordered 3 nasi lemak with chicken btw. however only 2 show-up)

Us: "nape tak bagi taw awal2..da tunggu 30 minit baru cakap"

Kitchen guy: "tadi masih ade tapi sbb ramai order da habes.. "
(erkss..does the reasoning make sense?..why accept the order if you cant cater for it?)

In the end we resorted to just get a toast,but less than a minute a waiter served nasi lemak with chicken to the table in front of us who came later (!!!) .. i don't hold grudge to that table thou.. at least our food arrived at about the same time.. for them, only after one of the spouse finished up the nasi lemak plus some waiting time, did his wife meehoon arrived..

but if i were to think again, what does it take to serve a pre-cooked and readily nasi lemak and ayam till they need at least 30 minutes to get it served?

my first time at the kopitiam was back a few years ago, the food was nice especially their nasi dagang and they do have good service.. went last year and the food quality and service seem not as good as it used to be.. but now, they definitely deteriorated to a great extent especially in the service region (the toast, as in 2 slice of toasted bread with kaya and butter was NOT nice.. the nasi lemak was OK la).. kind of a waste as a strategically located malay kopitiam is a rarity..

for kelantanese, they definitely have at least heard of nasi tumpang, if have not engulfed themselves in this unique delicacy.. no?.. are you REALLY a kelantanese?..hey, i'm a half kelantanese myself and had enjoyed it quite number of times.. shame on you! :P

definition of nasi tumpang: nasi-impit-like-rice packed in a cone-shaped banana leaf.. a pack of nasi tumpang consists of an omelette, meat floss, chicken and/or shrimp curry and sweet gravy.. it is traditionally meant for travellers

did some googling (not oggling :P) and found two places that do serve nasi tumpang in Klang Valley: Warung and Belanga.. both are located at Midvalley: near entrance from KTM and gardens respectively.. aaah, mengidamnye~.. should plan a visit there soon, very soon..

so whenever you found any hazard that can associate or impact personnel, it'll become near miss..

another good example: forgetting to pull your handbrake when parking at a hillside + people lalu lalang = kete langgar orang

why report near misses?

in offshore operations especially, all incident and near misses must be reportable to alert others and avoid occurrences

in this company i'm working with, they take high priority of safety whether its personnel safety of process safety.. thus the term SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) used while other companies opt to used HSE or ESH.. note the S part come first, that is to emphasized, no matter what we do, safety concerns must be addressed first

sumtimes this kinda reporting make you more alert to all the hazards around you all this while, but had never noticed..

so, start reporting and sharing near misses with those you care..
i'm off, nak g beli goggles.. kot2 nanti nak tumbuk sambal belacan, xde la termasuk mata.. :P

last week, i was given the chance to attend Production Safety School which basically talks about API Recommended Practice 14C, 14J, 500 and 505..

ok, i know, this is very technical..tp nak citer gak.. overally, it's a very good course..

API stands for American Petroleum Institute.. by minimum, industry practices should at least meet API RP in their offshore and production facilities.. We were lucky that the course was taught by one of the original committee that wrote the API RP some ancient time ago.. (and we were told on how how they come out for some basis during the writings, which was so hilarious, though the guy may exaggerate a bit XD )..

I'd learnt a lot and appreciate had taken this training now as things start to make sense to me.. If it were too early,my take-away would probably extra dozing time and good food (i confess, the food is not really great.. it's nice and something new, not the same ol' convention centre's food we always had for meetings- i do like convention centre's food sebenarnye..hehe.. and hard rock cafe? definitely not worth the price tag :P )

API RP 14C talks about the need of having at two layer protection in you facilities.. how to check that you have adequate safety protection of your process.. How you can check whether your consultant is doing the right design and not just lying to you blindly..

being only a green horn in this industry, i do admit, the most stupidest error that i'd seen actually did came from wrong design.. not to put the blame on consultant companies, but designing and actually operating a facility are two different things.. whatever errors had been done in design (or installation) stage may affect some one life 10 - 20 years down the road, if not done properly and safely..

the instructor, being with an engineering problem-solver company, gave us examples of the unsafely design facilities which are real stories in South-East Asia facilities.. and that made me scared..seriously, when you go out there to work, you would not expect something in the facility just waiting to be flying out of orbit because of defect in the designed process safety.. >.<"

every morning during the training, i took a taxi to the course venue. (except for one day when my dad sent me there). on my last day coincidentally, i'd ride the same taxi on one of the previous days of the training.. was planning to dozed off for a few minutes before reaching the place, but the taxi driver was very talkative and the fact that i'd taken his taxi twice to the same place just add into one of topic selection list..

"keje kat hotel ke cik?" asked the taxi driver. in one of the talks, he told me was a government retiree

"tak, ada training" i do get that questions for a few times already, whenever i had taken taxi in early mornings to go for trainings.. when i had said no, they will go "ahhh, i thought so.. u don't look like one" ..but they still ask, probably out of curiosity.. >.<"

ughhhh...

been throwing up everything i ate these past 2/3 days..

arrived back late tuesday..starting to feel stuffy..

off day on wednesday.. nausea feeling started to be stronger.. my appetite limited since all came out in the same form they were eaten.. diarrhea at night..

thursday went to see the doctor.. prelim 1st opinion, "are you married?" concluded from my nauseous state..urgggghhh.. nonos! ..
the real, revised 1st opinion, diagnosed with food poisoning.. given MC 1 day.. spent the whole day hibernating with heavy headache..

friday.. in the morning, motion sickness affected by motion literally..fell like tumbling down everytime i move a lot especially after taking medications.. advise to go back early by my colleague but by the time i went back, it was post lunch time but still early from office hour.. kurang kepeningan da tapi balik gak..hee..

the culprit? --> probably the very-not-appetizing meal i ate on the Korean AIR flight on the way back since everything started from there.. eurgghhh...

x makan byk mana, tapi x kurus2 gak.. haihhh..

conciousness

previously my average weight is around 53 kg..
when i went for med check-up, 1 month before i started work, i was 51 kg.. probably worrying about depletion of my savings has some contribution here..
now, after more than 10 months working, i weighted 56.5 kg..
goodness..

i used to wear jeans sized 28, now i dont even want to know or chose not to know what size i can fit in, definitely no longer 28 ..
and excess fats are showing here and there..
i used to have flat stomach without a need to exercise at all!
how i wish it lasted..
i dont even eat as much as used to eat back then when i'm still at utp!
::sigh::

i had planned to go gym..
i even bought a new pair of training shoes for that sole purpose..
but i had only wear it like, 2 times?.. :P
to exercise after office hours seems to be good as a plan,only to realize to actually do it is kinda near the low side of any probability..
its not everyday i am able to leave my office right on time at 5 or 6.. normally when i'm too sick to look at monitor screen, then will only i just leave everything, w/out even bothering to log out.. hee :P

anyone has any good tips to lose some/ much fats?
i dont mind the weight, as long as i lose the fats..

thinking of going to london weight management..
