of near misses

"personnel found pounding chili and prawn paste without wearing goggles"

that is a real, reportable near miss my frens..

what is a near miss?

in a math equation, near miss = hazard + people..

so whenever you found any hazard that can associate or impact personnel, it'll become near miss..

another good example: forgetting to pull your handbrake when parking at a hillside + people lalu lalang = kete langgar orang

why report near misses?

sharing purposes..
in offshore operations especially, all incident and near misses must be reportable to alert others and avoid occurrences

in this company i'm working with, they take high priority of safety whether its personnel safety of process safety.. thus the term SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) used while other companies opt to used HSE or ESH.. note the S part come first, that is to emphasized, no matter what we do, safety concerns must be addressed first

sumtimes this kinda reporting make you more alert to all the hazards around you all this while, but had never noticed..

so, start reporting and sharing near misses with those you care..
i'm off, nak g beli goggles.. kot2 nanti nak tumbuk sambal belacan, xde la termasuk mata.. :P

TAKE TWO

kpop idols coming to town in October!! .. ok, correction: they're coming to our neighboring country, singapore..still, my heart is pounding to go!!

not one, but all the big names: BIG BANG, SNSD, SHINEE, FT ISLAND and one unidentified idol..

could it be SuJu? - they had came to Malaysia in March ans they are currently bz with Super Show 3..

if it gonna be DBSK or their post-SME-dispute JYJ or HoMin, i definitely cry my heart out as i wont be able to make it..

of work stress and fun time

masjid besi @ putrajaya..xpenah gi lagi neh
-source: wikipedia-

i dyed my hair violet.. ok, before you start jumping it's actually blackcurrant @ dark violet brown

last week had been a very exhausting week.. i was pull back in an issue that involved deferred production.. even lost the opportunity to attend SFD reliability lesson learnt workshop (just pretend you know what's it all about ek)..

so when the weekends arrived, i celebrated it with joy and pleasure, with my finger crossed no one calls me as i'm on weekend duty.. during the weekly grocery, my mom was browsing to buy for dye on her grey hair.. that' s when one dye color caught my eye..

"what color is that?" my dad asked, looking at the 2 permanent hair color..

"violet" :P

my dad goes like "purple?".. my mom malas nak layan da my kerenah..lol..

to my parents relieve, it actually turns out ok.. i would say it looks almost natural.. the violet-ness does not really showed off.. since my original hair is deep black, it looks like just another shade of black, if black have any shades.. under the lights at the right angle, then the violet-ness is seen.. and i like it just the way it turns out, even i may have hoped the color can be more obvious.. hoho~

to tell you the truth, i had been wanting to dye my hair dark violet since i'm in form 5.. i believe that was the time that this dye color was introduced.. but then, both parents definitely oppose that.. i could not dye my hair behind their back, what if it turns out disastrously and become stunning purple?..that'll be a haunting and never-ending nightmare..

hurmmm, what should be next year's colour?..should i try a lighter color?.. or jeng3x: algae green?

XD

P/S: i actually got a call asking me to go to office just now.. ngaaa~

PP/S: selamat berpuasa dan menyambut bulan puasa al-mubarak to all muslim and muslimat~ :)

TAKE TWO:

of training and taxi

last week, i was given the chance to attend Production Safety School which basically talks about API Recommended Practice 14C, 14J, 500 and 505..

ok, i know, this is very technical..tp nak citer gak.. overally, it's a very good course..

API stands for American Petroleum Institute.. by minimum, industry practices should at least meet API RP in their offshore and production facilities.. We were lucky that the course was taught by one of the original committee that wrote the API RP some ancient time ago.. (and we were told on how how they come out for some basis during the writings, which was so hilarious, though the guy may exaggerate a bit XD )..

I'd learnt a lot and appreciate had taken this training now as things start to make sense to me.. If it were too early,my take-away would probably extra dozing time and good food (i confess, the food is not really great.. it's nice and something new, not the same ol' convention centre's food we always had for meetings- i do like convention centre's food sebenarnye..hehe.. and hard rock cafe? definitely not worth the price tag :P )

API RP 14C talks about the need of having at two layer protection in you facilities.. how to check that you have adequate safety protection of your process.. How you can check whether your consultant is doing the right design and not just lying to you blindly..

being only a green horn in this industry, i do admit, the most stupidest error that i'd seen actually did came from wrong design.. not to put the blame on consultant companies, but designing and actually operating a facility are two different things.. whatever errors had been done in design (or installation) stage may affect some one life 10 - 20 years down the road, if not done properly and safely..

the instructor, being with an engineering problem-solver company, gave us examples of the unsafely design facilities which are real stories in South-East Asia facilities.. and that made me scared..seriously, when you go out there to work, you would not expect something in the facility just waiting to be flying out of orbit because of defect in the designed process safety.. >.<"

_____

every morning during the training, i took a taxi to the course venue. (except for one day when my dad sent me there). on my last day coincidentally, i'd ride the same taxi on one of the previous days of the training.. was planning to dozed off for a few minutes before reaching the place, but the taxi driver was very talkative and the fact that i'd taken his taxi twice to the same place just add into one of topic selection list..

"keje kat hotel ke cik?" asked the taxi driver. in one of the talks, he told me was a government retiree

"tak, ada training" i do get that questions for a few times already, whenever i had taken taxi in early mornings to go for trainings.. when i had said no, they will go "ahhh, i thought so.. u don't look like one" ..but they still ask, probably out of curiosity.. >.<"

drama review: oh! my lady

first of all, let me warning you : this review most probably biased since I'm at the moment have a HUUUUGE crush on Choi Si Won, but that does not mean it's not an enjoyable drama.. it's a very funny and cute, although it does not cause a hype or phenomenal like Boys Over Flowers or You're Beautiful..

Let me introduce you to our main characters which were the main reasons I started to watch this drama:

Chae Rim - her most famous and all-time favorite drama ought to be All About Eve. I had watched her post AAE dramas - powerful opponents, dalja's spring - none left me a good impression as AAE. Thus though i'm interested to watch O!ML when i heard her casted as the female lead, it does not give me the push to actually watch this one.. - and i"m glad i did not missed this..

Choi Siwon - truthfully, before this i'm not a SuJu fan, so i have no idea who was this guy, not even bother to have a glance at Javabeans drama reviews since i'm not interested. Looks to me like just another rookie actor, never that i knew i am gonna fell hard for him after the drama ends!

as if being fate, one day while watching KBS2, SuJu was promoting their then latest single BONAMANA.. my eye caught this one interesting, tall, cute guy.. quickly google and found him! --> Choi Siwon and he just wrapped up O!ML..

Yup!.. this guy was the sole purpose i start to watch this drama (and become a SuJu follower too).. but the story plot and all the actors' convincing acting that kept me wanting more and more after each of episodes of Oh! My Lady.. and i like Choi Siwon even more because of the impression he left me.. can't wait to watch Athena..

The central of the drama revolves around one star-actor at the top of ent industry, Sung Min Woo. He's a famous actor, all girls (and even ahjummas) will squeal whenever they see him even only on TV. Not because of he's acting as he is notably known as a lousy actor, but because he is such an eye-candy. He's a snob and an arrogant jerk due to his stardom but do feel insecurity in his acting especially during interview session when he'll unconsciously be shaking his legs uncontrollably..

Never had crossed the mind of a-divorcee with a daughter, Yoon Gae Hwa that she will seal her fate when she coincidentally become Sung Min Woo housekeeper for one day - and burnt the poor guy shirt he was supposed to wear to a fanmeeting and totally forgot about it..

Life starts to change for Sung Min Woo, when his 6-year old daughter, Ye Eun arrived at his doorstep.. Afraid of his image will be tarnish, he denied the girl, even tried to left the girl on the streets but unsuccessful..

behind the scene of the episode Sung Min Woo planned to leave Ye Eun on the streets.. Choi Siwon actually looks attached to 'his' daughter

Although this drama may fall under the categorization of love story, for me its more of a family drama and how a person developed himself into a better better better person than he used to be

In this drama, we able to see how Sung Min Woo grow up to be a responsible, matured person because of Yoon Gae Hwa nagging and scolding him, to remind (or forced) him of responsibility.. How Sung Min Woo changes as he became to love Ye Eun and able to publicly admit her birthright, no longer selfishly pushing her aside for his career..
How Ye Eun became the bridge for Min Woo and Gae Hwa bickering and led them to something more..
How in the end Min Woo able to prove he had become not only a better person as a whole but also a better actor..

And I get to see how cute Choi Siwon is! :P

Overally, there's a lot of funny moments here.. Relatively speaking, some of kdramas do get draggy and boring at one part, but not for this one though.. In every episode you'll able to feel annoyance, sad and also laugh your heart out..

This drama greatly points out how a reporter can bring down one big name in the entertainment industry within a blink of an eye but also the one that make one rise again.. so all the artists out there, beware!

Interestingly, one thing that you obviously notice in O!ML is life is like a deja vu.. but it gave you a totally different meaning the 2nd time around.. you'll understand if you watch this drama..

look like a real one happy family (this is not one of the drama scene ye)

I'll end my longest post ever for the past months.. 'll catch up with you later.. Before I leave, I left you with my favorite pics of Choi Siwon, the sleepy Sung Min Woo..
